Steely Dan Empty Steely Dan

Gaucho is the seventh studio album by the American Jazz rock band Steely Dan, released in 1980.

Babylon Sisters is the first song on the album. It is a Biblical reference to fallen people, fallen women, and the song has a lot of refferences to California goegraphy. "Drive West Down Sunset to the Sea" is about Sunset Blvd that starts in Downtown Los Angeles and winds west through Hollywood (Sunset strip).

The Santa Ana winds occur in the last quarter of the year on very warm days where the winds come out of the desert from the east to the west. When those strong, hot Santa Ana winds blow, all bets are off, and people go crazy.
