Magenta - The Twenty Seven Club

Welsh proggers Magenta is about to release their new album, The Twenty Seven Club in September 2nd 2013.

The Twenty Seven Club refers to a large group of musician/singers (including Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain ) who all died at the age of 27, many from alcohol or drug abuse.

D. Boon, singer-guitarist of post-punk band the Minutemen
Kurt Cobain, the Nirvana singer
Richey James Edwards, songwriter and guitarist of Manic Street Preachers
Pete Ham, singer and guitarist of Badfinger
Jimi Hendrix, singer, songwriter and guitarist of the Jimi Hendrix Experience
Brian Jones, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist of the Rolling Stones
Janis Joplin, solo star and singer for Big Brother and the Holding Company
Ron 'Pigpen' McKernan, keyboardist and vocalist of the Grateful Dead
Jim Morrison, charismatic frontman of the Doors
Kristen Pfaff, bassist of Hole
Richard Turner, brass player of Friendly Fires
Jeremy Michael Ward, behind-the-scenes guy of Mars Volta contributing with loops, samples and soundscapes
Mia Zapata, singer of Seattle punk band The Gits
